Social Affairs and Labour Committee approves Labour Code amendments to transpose the Pay Transparency Directive

The Social Affairs and Labour Committee of the Seimas considered draft bill XVP, 1309(2) and its accompanying legislative proposals implementing Directive (EU) 2023/970. On 14 May 2026 the committee voted to approve amendments to multiple articles of the Labour Code establishing obligations on employers to provide individual pay information and average pay by gender to employees and to publish pay, gap indicators. The committee also recommended postponing the entry into force of certain disclosure provisions until 1 January 2027 to allow technical preparation by state bodies and business entities. On 13 May 2026 the Riigikogu concluded its session by interrupting the second reading of bill 837 SE, the Government proposal to amend the Employment Contracts Act and related statutes. Minister convenes social, partner meeting on draft equal, pay bill

Plenary vote in National Council adopts Equal Pay Act by constitutional majority

The National Council of the Slovak Republic today adopted the Act on equal pay for men and women for the same work or work of equal value. The bill secured 123 votes in favour and advances national transposition of Directive (EU) 2023/970. The Act requires employers to implement pay structures based on four objective criteria and to publish pay ranges in job advertisements. It establishes reporting obligations for employers with 250 or more employees on an annual basis and for those with 100, 249 employees every three years. Council of State issues advice W12.26.00016/III on the draft implementation bill

The Advisory Division of the Council of State issued advice W12.26.00016/III on the draft Wet implementatie Richtlijn loontransparantie mannen en vrouwen. The advice was established on 1 April 2026, with the Wetgevingskalender milestone Advies Raad van State uitgebracht recorded on 2 April 2026, the Raad van State publishing the advice on its own portal on 7 April 2026, and the Wetgevingskalender publishing the document on 10 April 2026. Government submits draft amendments to the Discrimination Act for Lagrådsremiss

Entry into force of amendments to the Labour Code

MLSP working group circulates draft Anti, Discrimination Act amendment and correspondence table for Directive 2023/970

On 17 July 2025 Federal Minister for Gender Equality Karin Prien established the commission 'Low, Bureaucracy Implementation of the Pay Transparency Directive', chaired by Prof. Dr. Christian Rolfs and Prof. Dr. Katharina Wrohlich. Minister of Labour and Social Policy forms inter, ministerial working group on pay transparency directive

Minister of Labour and Social Policy issued Order No. RD, 02, 12 on 28 February 2025. The order established an inter, ministerial working group to review Directive (EU) 2023/970 and to develop proposals for its transposition into national law. The group is tasked with a detailed analysis of the directive’s transparency requirements, preparation of a conformity table and proposals for amendments to the Anti, Discrimination Act. It held plenary meetings on 28 March and 18 June 2025 and continued work in expert subgroups. The group must submit its final report, including draft legislative texts, to the Minister by 12 December 2025.
